The Worthwhile Hustle Student Challenge

To launch The Worthwhile Hustle community, we are hosting a 60-day national challenge starting September 1, 2025. The purpose of this challenge is to give students affordable access to workforce-ready skills while directly supporting community college students and the educators who guide them.

🎯 Challenge Overview

  • The challenge begins September 1, 2025 and ends October 31, 2025.

  • Students may join from any state in the U.S.

  • Participation is completely voluntary.

πŸ† Donation Prizes

At the conclusion of the challenge, the following donations will be made:

  • πŸ₯‡ First state to reach 5,000 student signups β†’ $10,000 donation to a community college fund of their choice.

  • πŸ₯ˆ Second place (next highest number of signups) β†’ $5,000 donation.

  • πŸ₯‰ Third place (third highest number of signups) β†’ $2,500 donation.

  • πŸ“° Chalkbeat β†’ A $10,000 donation in recognition of the work you do to support educators and keep education at the center of public conversation.

Note: Only first place must reach 5,000 signups to unlock the top prize. Second and third place awards will go to the states with the next highest totals, regardless of the number reached.

πŸ“ Donation Commitment

  • All donations will be made within 30 days of the challenge ending.

  • State prizes will be sent directly to official community college foundations or student support funds designated by the winning states.

  • The Chalkbeat donation will be made directly to Chalkbeat’s nonprofit organization.

  • Worthwhile Hustle will publicly announce all donations and provide confirmation of receipts to ensure transparency.

The challenge has three main goals:

  1. Student Opportunity: Give students an affordable new way to explore AI, entrepreneurship, and career readiness skills in a supportive, community-driven space.

  2. Giving Back to Community Colleges: Directly support community colleges and their students with meaningful donations.

  3. Supporting Education Journalism: Recognize and strengthen Chalkbeat’s mission to amplify education voices nationwide.
